How ChatterEase helps

Answers menu questions instantly

Train ChatterEase on your full menu. Guests ask about dishes, prices and dietary options, and it answers from what you have written down.

Shares hours and location info

Your opening hours, location, parking and booking process are answered the moment someone asks, including at hours when nobody is there to pick up.

Collects booking requests for you

When a guest wants to book, it points them to your booking page. On Growth and Pro it can also take their name and email, so you can follow up after service.

Set it up in an afternoon

A simple plan anyone can follow. Start on the Free plan and upgrade only when you outgrow it.

  1. Add your menu, hours and contact page

In the Train tab, add the web addresses of your menu, opening hours and contact page. If your menu only exists as a PDF, upload the file instead. These three cover most of what guests ask.

  2. Add the pages behind the next questions

Then add your booking page, your allergen and dietary information, and anything about parking, takeaway, private hire or gift vouchers. Start with what your staff are asked most.

  3. Pin the answers that must be exact

In the Q&A tab, pin replies you never want reworded: your allergy wording (for example, "please speak to a member of staff before ordering"), your booking deposit or cancellation rule, and any service charge. A pinned reply is used word for word when a matching question comes in.

  4. Test it with the questions you hear every day

Ask it: "Are you open on Monday?", "Do you have vegan dishes?", "Can I bring my dog?", "Can I book for 12?". If an answer is wrong or missing, fix the page or add a Q&A reply, then retrain.

  5. Set up hand-off and lead capture

Decide who gets questions that need a person. On Growth and Pro, turn on the lead capture form so large group and event requests arrive with a name and email. Add up to 4 suggested question chips, like "Opening hours" or "See the menu".

  6. Put it on every page

Copy the script from the Embed tab and add it to your site's footer, so the widget shows on every page, including the menu. The WordPress and Wix guides show exactly where to paste it.

Install guides for your website

Each screen is explained in the docs. Rather have someone show you? Get a demo.

After launch, read the Conversations tab now and then to see what people ask, and add any missing answers to your pages or the Q&A tab. Growth and Pro add full conversation analytics, including busy hours and top questions.

What it should answer, and what it should hand to a person

The AI agent answers from your own pages and files. Some questions need a person, and it should pass those on instead of guessing.

What it should answer

  • Opening hours, kitchen closing times and holiday hours
  • What's on the menu and the prices you publish
  • Which dishes your menu marks as vegetarian, vegan or gluten-free
  • How to book a table, with a link to your booking page
  • Parking, transport and step-free access, as you've described them
  • Takeaway, delivery and gift vouchers, if you offer them

What it should hand to a person

  • Allergies where the kitchen needs to confirm a dish is safe
  • Large group bookings, private hire and events
  • Changing or cancelling an existing booking
  • Deposits, refunds and payments (it cannot take payments)
  • Complaints about a visit or a bill
  • Anything you have not written down

ChatterEase cannot take payments, change orders, look up order status or book appointments in your other systems. It shares your links and passes those requests to your team. On Starter a visitor reaches you through a contact form. On Growth and Pro you also get an email alert when someone asks for a person.

See it in action

Questions people ask, and what a good answer looks like.

Do you have gluten-free options?

Yes, you'll find them here: [your gluten-free menu]. If you have any other allergies, tell me which ones and the kitchen can confirm what's safe before you order.

What time do you open on Sunday?

We're open [your Sunday hours], and the kitchen closes [your last kitchen order time]. Would you like me to pass on a reservation request?

Do you have parking?

Yes: [your parking details]. If that's full, there's usually [your nearby alternative parking] a short walk away.

These are templates, not transcripts. Text in [square brackets] is where your own details go: your menu, your hours, your policy. ChatterEase answers from content you give it, so the specifics it gets right are the ones you have already written down.

What to train ChatterEase on

Start with these. Add each one as a page address, or upload it as a PDF, Word (.docx), text or markdown file.

  • Your menu page
  • Opening hours and service times
  • Location and parking page
  • Allergen and dietary information
  • Booking or reservation page
  • Your existing FAQ page

Getting leads from it

Most restaurant questions don't need an email address. Someone asking what time you open just wants the time. Ask for contact details only when there's something for your team to follow up.

When to ask for an email

  • A group asking about a table bigger than you take online
  • Private hire, birthday and work party enquiries
  • Catering or large takeaway orders
  • A guest with an allergy who wants the kitchen to get back to them

Don't ask for an email before answering hours, menu or parking questions. It slows people down for no reason.

What you get

  • A lead capture form in the widget, on Growth and Pro. Starter has a contact form for passing a visitor to a person.
  • A leads inbox (the Leads tab) with each person's name, email and message, on Growth and Pro.
  • An email alert when a visitor asks for a person, on Growth and Pro.
  • CSV export of your leads, on Pro.
  • Webhooks on every plan, to send new leads to Zapier, Make, n8n or your own endpoint.

Which plan fits

Our suggestion

Growth

$29.99 /monthor $23.99/month billed yearly

3 AI agents · Unlimited conversations a month · 25 documents

We suggest Growth for most restaurants. The lead capture form and email alert mean a party enquiry at 11 PM is waiting in your inbox the next morning, and the greeting bubble can point visitors to your menu.

If you only want hours and menu questions answered on one site, Starter covers that, with a simple contact form for passing guests to a person. Groups running many sites may want Pro for unlimited AI agents and a custom logo.

Paying yearly takes 20% off. Local tax calculated at checkout.

Questions about an AI agent for restaurants & food

Can an AI agent handle allergy questions at my restaurant?

It can share the allergen information you publish, which is why that page belongs in your training. It cannot check what is happening in your kitchen today. Pin a Q&A reply that tells guests with allergies to speak to staff before ordering, and treat the AI agent as a way to start that conversation, not replace it.

Can it take table bookings?

No. It cannot book tables in your booking system or take deposits. It shares your booking link and policy, and on Growth and Pro it can collect a name and email for requests like large groups so your team can confirm. Bookings and payments stay in the system you already use.

How much does an AI agent for a restaurant cost?

Start free, then Starter is $14.99 a month, Growth is $29.99 and Pro is $49.99. Paying yearly takes 20% off, and you don't need a card to start. Local tax is added at checkout. We suggest Growth for restaurants that want group and event enquiries sent to them.

How long does it take to set up for a restaurant?

Most of the work is gathering what you already have: your website pages and a few files. You add those in the Train tab, test it with real questions, pin a few exact answers in the Q&A tab, then paste one script tag on your site. The setup plan on this page goes step by step, and the docs cover each screen. Your menu, hours and booking page are enough for a first version you can improve later.

Will it make things up about my menu?

It answers from the pages and files you train it on. If the answer is not in your content, it says it doesn't know, and when a visitor keeps getting that, it offers to put them in touch with your team. It can still be wrong if a page is out of date or unclear, so test it after changes and pin exact replies in the Q&A tab for anything that must be word for word. If your menu changes often, retrain after each change. On Growth and Pro you can set a page to update on a schedule instead.

What happens to what guests type into it?

Conversations are saved to your dashboard so you can read them in the Conversations tab and see what people ask. Anything you train it on can show up in an answer to any visitor, so only use content you would be happy to publish. Ask visitors for no more than you need, usually a name and an email address. There is no need to ask guests for health details. If someone mentions an allergy, the right next step is a person.

Does it work on my restaurant website and on phones?

Yes. ChatterEase works on WordPress, Shopify, Wix, Webflow, Squarespace and HTML sites, and anywhere else you can add a script tag. There is a step-by-step guide for each platform. The widget works on phones as well as computers, and Pro adds advanced mobile layout controls. Many guests look you up on their phone on the way over, so test it on one before you go live.
