Guides and tips on AI customer support, written for people who run a business rather than people who build software.

What we write about

Most of what a small business gets asked, repeatedly, is already written down somewhere: on a pricing page, in a policy document, in the reply you send to the same question every Monday. Most support time goes into the gap between having the answer and a customer being able to find it at 9pm. These posts are about closing that gap.

We write for owners and managers rather than developers. That means an honest answer when something is a bad idea for a business your size, a clear line between what a tool does and what vendors tend to imply it does, and no invented statistics. Where a number matters we show you the arithmetic so you can substitute your own.

A few places to start: whether an AI agent or live chat fits you if that decision is open, a plain-English introduction if the whole idea is new, and seven ways to cut support volume if the inbox is the problem you have right now.

How to use these guides

Read them in whatever order matches the problem in front of you. Each post is written to stand alone, so there is no need to work through them in sequence, and none of them assume you have tried an AI agent before. If you want the short version, every post opens with a summary and closes with the decision you need to make and the number worth checking on your own side before you commit to anything.

We update posts as the tools around them change rather than republishing them for the sake of a date. Where something has moved on, the post says so at the point it matters and carries a revision date. If you find a claim here that no longer holds up, we would rather hear about it than keep it up.

If you would rather skip the reading and see the product, ChatterEase has a free plan with no card required, and the documentation covers the technical side of installing it.
