How ChatterEase helps
Answers the repeat policy questions
Delivery times, returns and policy questions are answered from your own policy pages, which is where a lot of repeat email comes from.
Answers product questions before they become emails
Sizing, materials, compatibility and what's in the box are answered from your product pages and size charts.
Takes the details when a person is needed
Refunds, complaints and order problems go to your team with the customer's details, instead of getting lost in a busy inbox.
Set it up in an afternoon
A simple plan anyone can follow. Start on the Free plan and upgrade only when you outgrow it.
Add your policy pages first
In the Train tab, add your shipping, returns and refunds, and FAQ pages. These answer the questions that arrive with nearly every order.
Add your best-selling products and size charts
Add the product pages people ask about most, and upload size charts or care guides as files. On Growth and Pro, set your key pages to update on a schedule so price and description changes are picked up.
Pin your returns window and shipping costs
In the Q&A tab, pin the exact return window, who pays return postage, and your shipping costs and cut-off times. Customers hold you to these, so they should be word for word.
Test it with order-level questions
Ask "Where is my order?", "Can I change my address?" and "I want a refund". It cannot see orders, so it should share your tracking link or take details for your team, never promise anything about a specific order.
Set up hand-off and lead capture
On Growth and Pro, turn on the lead capture form and email alert so order problems reach you with an email address attached. Add suggested question chips like "Shipping times" and "Returns".
Install it on product and checkout-adjacent pages
Copy the script from the Embed tab. The Shopify guide shows where to paste it in your theme, which is the step that usually goes wrong. There are guides for Wix, Webflow and HTML stores too.
Install guides for your website
Each screen is explained in the docs. Rather have someone show you? Get a demo.
After launch, read the Conversations tab now and then to see what people ask, and add any missing answers to your pages or the Q&A tab. Growth and Pro add full conversation analytics, including busy hours and top questions.
What it should answer, and what it should hand to a person
The AI agent answers from your own pages and files. Some questions need a person, and it should pass those on instead of guessing.
What it should answer
- Shipping costs, delivery times and the countries you ship to
- Your returns window and how to start a return
- Sizing, materials and product details from your product pages
- Payment methods you accept, as listed on your site
- Where to find order tracking (your tracking link)
- Support hours and how to contact you
What it should hand to a person
- Where a specific order is (it cannot look up order status)
- Changing or cancelling an order, or changing an address
- Refunds, exchanges and damaged items
- Payment problems (it cannot take or change payments)
- Complaints and chargebacks
- Wholesale and bulk order enquiries
ChatterEase cannot take payments, change orders, look up order status or book appointments in your other systems. It shares your links and passes those requests to your team. On Starter a visitor reaches you through a contact form. On Growth and Pro you also get an email alert when someone asks for a person.
See it in action
Questions people ask, and what a good answer looks like.
Where is my order?
You can track it any time at [your tracking link]. Standard shipping usually arrives within [your standard window], and express within [your express window]. If something's wrong, leave your order number and email and I'll pass it to the team.
What's your return policy?
We accept returns within [your return window] on unused items. Start one at [your returns link] or email [your returns email], and refunds are processed within [your refund window].
Does this fit a size 10?
The size chart for this product lists [the measurement that matters for this product]. If you tell me your measurements I can tell you which size that points to.
These are templates, not transcripts. Text in [square brackets] is where your own details go: your menu, your hours, your policy. ChatterEase answers from content you give it, so the specifics it gets right are the ones you have already written down.
What to train ChatterEase on
Start with these. Add each one as a page address, or upload it as a PDF, Word (.docx), text or markdown file.
- Your shipping and delivery policy
- Returns and refunds policy
- Product pages and size charts
- FAQ page
- Payment and security information
- Contact and support hours
Getting leads from it
In a store, contact details matter most when something has gone wrong or when a big order is on the table. Shoppers browsing products should get answers without a form.
When to ask for an email
- An order problem: damaged, missing or wrong item
- A refund or exchange request
- Wholesale, bulk or custom order enquiries
- A product question your pages don't answer
Don't ask for an email before answering shipping or sizing questions. That's the moment a shopper is deciding to buy.
What you get
- A lead capture form in the widget, on Growth and Pro. Starter has a contact form for passing a visitor to a person.
- A leads inbox (the Leads tab) with each person's name, email and message, on Growth and Pro.
- An email alert when a visitor asks for a person, on Growth and Pro.
- CSV export of your leads, on Pro.
- Webhooks on every plan, to send new leads to Zapier, Make, n8n or your own endpoint.
Which plan fits
Start on the Free plan, then paid plans run from $14.99 a month. No card is needed to start, and each paid plan includes a one-time 14-day trial.
Our suggestion
Growth
$29.99 /monthor $23.99/month billed yearly
3 AI agents · Unlimited conversations a month · 25 documents
We suggest Growth for most small stores. 2,000 conversations a month and 25 documents leave room for policies and product guides, and the lead capture form with email alert makes order problems easy to pick up.
A very small store with few products can start on Starter (500 conversations a month). Busy stores, or ones that want CSV export of leads, API access or a white-label widget, should look at Pro with 10,000 conversations a month.
Paying yearly takes 20% off. Local tax calculated at checkout.
Questions about an AI agent for ecommerce stores
Can the AI agent issue a refund?
No. It cannot take, change or refund payments. It explains your refund policy, takes the customer's details and the reason, and your team processes the refund in your store platform. Refunds are where you want a person making the call.
Can it check a customer's order status?
No. It cannot see orders or look up order status. It answers from your policy pages and shares your tracking link, and if a customer has a problem with a specific order it passes their order number and email to your team.
How much does an AI agent for an online store cost?
Start free, then Starter is $14.99 a month, Growth is $29.99 and Pro is $49.99. Paying yearly takes 20% off, and you don't need a card to start. Local tax is added at checkout. We suggest Growth for most small stores. Check your conversation count in the dashboard during the trial to see which plan your traffic needs.
How long does it take to set up for an online store?
Most of the work is gathering what you already have: your website pages and a few files. You add those in the Train tab, test it with real questions, pin a few exact answers in the Q&A tab, then paste one script tag on your site. The setup plan on this page goes step by step, and the docs cover each screen. Your shipping, returns and FAQ pages are enough for a first version. Add product pages after.
Will it give customers wrong product information?
It answers from the pages and files you train it on. If the answer is not in your content, it says it doesn't know, and when a visitor keeps getting that, it offers to put them in touch with your team. It can still be wrong if a page is out of date or unclear, so test it after changes and pin exact replies in the Q&A tab for anything that must be word for word. Keep product pages current, and on Growth and Pro set them to update on a schedule so changes are picked up.
What happens to what customers type into it?
Conversations are saved to your dashboard so you can read them in the Conversations tab and see what people ask. Anything you train it on can show up in an answer to any visitor, so only use content you would be happy to publish. Ask visitors for no more than you need, usually a name and an email address. Ask customers never to type card details into the widget. It does not need them.
Does it work with Shopify and on phones?
Yes. ChatterEase works on WordPress, Shopify, Wix, Webflow, Squarespace and HTML sites, and anywhere else you can add a script tag. There is a step-by-step guide for each platform. The widget works on phones as well as computers, and Pro adds advanced mobile layout controls. The Shopify guide covers where to paste the script in your theme, which is the part that usually goes wrong.
Works on the website you already have
One script tag. No rebuild and no move to a new website.
